The Genesis of The Mewes Group: How We Became Advocates for Business Relief
Let me take you back to a pivotal moment in my career—an experience that would shape my trajectory and ignite my passion for assisting businesses in times of crisis.
It all began during the tumultuous early days of the pandemic when uncertainty loomed large, and businesses grappled with unprecedented challenges. As a financial professional, I found myself at the forefront of the crisis, witnessing firsthand the devastating impact on small business owners and their livelihoods.
Amidst the chaos, an opportunity arose—an invitation to participate in a White House working group call on COVID government disaster relief financing. It was a moment that would change everything. During the call, I was struck by the palpable sense of urgency to assist struggling businesses and the collaborative spirit that permeated the discussion. Representatives from various government agencies, including the White House, SBA, Department of Labor, and Department of Treasury, convened to address the pressing challenges at hand.
As the conversation unfolded, it became clear that businesses were in dire need of support, and swift action was imperative. The rapid establishment of a website for COVID-19 loans emerged as a critical step in providing much-needed financial assistance to businesses reeling from the economic fallout of the pandemic.
However, it wasn’t just the urgency of the situation that left a lasting impression on me—it was the resilience and determination of business owners in the face of adversity. Despite facing unprecedented challenges, they remained steadfast in their commitment to weathering the storm and emerging stronger on the other side.
Inspired by their resilience and fueled by a desire to make a meaningful difference, I embarked on a mission to become an advocate for business relief. Armed with insights from the working group call and a newfound sense of purpose, I set out to navigate the complexities of government aid programs, including the Employee Retention Credit (ERC) and the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
Through my journey, I’ve had the privilege of assisting countless businesses in accessing vital financial support, helping them navigate the complexities of government aid programs, and guiding them through the application process.
As I reflect on my journey, I’m reminded of the profound impact that a single moment can have—the moment when I answered the call to action and became an advocate for business relief. It’s a journey that continues to inspire me every day as I work tirelessly to support businesses in their time of need and pave the way for a brighter, more resilient future.
